How will I know that my claims are being paid under the FedMed program?

All explanation of payments from our participating payors will state that the claim is being paid under the FedMed program.

How quickly are claims paid?

88% of claims are paid within 30 days from the date of service. In addition, interest is paid on all claims processed through the Accelerated Payment Program from the date of service until the payment date.

How much is the interest payment?

FedMed pays interest at a 5.1% annual rate. A lump sum interest payment is mailed quarterly along with an itemization of claims paid for the previous quarter.

How will I know how quickly my claims are being paid?

Included with the interest payments that FedMed issues to providers on a quarterly basis, is a detailed report which lists each claim and when it was paid.

How do I submit claims?

There is no change to your current process. Claims should be submitted to the payors in accordance with your usual submission process.

How do I get reimbursement rates for additional procedures?

Are reimbursement rates negotiable?

What do I do when a claim is processed incorrectly?

Contact the payor listed on the back of the patient’s identification card. The payor may, if necessary, instruct you to contact FedMed Provider Relations/Customer Service Department at (866) 255-2265.
